Sweet Heritage of Rohingya Fira
Cox’s Bazar, 09 & 11 December 2024: At RCMC Camp 18 and the MHPSS Centre Camp 20 Extension, we recently brought the community together to explore and celebrate the delicious tradition of Rohingya cakes (Fira)!
Through the event, the community gained an understanding of the significance of traditional Rohingya fira (cake) across different seasons and celebrations. It also emphasized the importance of preserving age-old recipes to keep traditions alive, while fostering community bonds through shared stories and flavours.
Thank you to everyone who participated in passing down the sweet legacy of Fira! Together, we continue to preserve and celebrate Rohingya heritage as well as foster mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of the community.
