Bankow is a round earthenware piggy bank with a slot to insert coin or money. Bankow can be purchased at the market or made at home. They can be of different shapes. Valuables like gold jewellery can also be hidden in a bankow. To save things other than coins, they are placed within the vessel in the making and sealed afterwards. Mostly, women of the Rohingya household use bankow to save for the future of their family.
