Description

Beashor lalsi goille aittar loot nofais a Rohingya proverb discouraging greed in human beings. It means, if you are greedy for everything, you would not even get a little. It is similar to the English proverb, Grasp all, lose all.

Rohingya artist, Enayet Khan, based the illustration on Aesop’s fable of the goose who laid golden eggs, a story common in Rohingya culture. The owner of the goose got greedy and wanted all the golden eggs from it in one day. In the end, he cut the animal open to get more eggs, eventually killing it and getting nothing.
