Dala is a wide, shallow and flat basket used to display and sell dry goods such as rice, seeds, beans, etc. The shape of the dala allows the goods inside to be easily viewed, sorted, and measured. Customers can thus avoid purchasing items that might have gone bad. This kind of basket is commonly used by Rohingya shopkeepers in the markets of rural Arakan. It usually costs 2000-3,000 Myanmar kyat.
