This is a portrait of Ajida, a Rohingya embroidery artisan for the RCMC. It was painted by Farzana Ahmed Urmi, a Bangladeshi artist-in-residence for the RCMC.

Ajida is a skilled fultola (embroidery) artisan and a tailor, always ready to take on any challenges with needle and thread. Inspired by her mother, she took paid tailoring lessons in Myanmar, and later honed her embroidery skills in the camp. For the RCMC, she has participated in the making of many large tapestries as well as other projects.
