Description

Ajida says she remembers that houses in Burma used to be bigger than her present shelter in camp.

Inside My Home gives us a look into Rohingya people’s private space and their homemaking trends. In the perplexing background of makeshift bamboo shelter, a sense of comfort come through these eleven artworks.

The art facilitator Shwettaj Jahan Tithi explains: ‘During the pandemic, I clung to the things things inside my home as I could not go out. I took care of every little thing there more than ever. I kept wondering how the Rohingya artisans spend their time in shelters where there is barely any space. But I found Rohingya people adorn their house with little things: colourful, cheap plastic flowers, recycled materials, pictures... They make their space home.’
