Description
The Rohingya community enjoy eating a lot of fish. In Myanmar, the men would catch fish from ponds and rivers and bring them home for the women to cook with traditional herbs and spices. At the camp, they still eat fish but since it is not freshly caught like it was in Myanmar the taste is different. This project helped the women recall the fish they used to eat in Myanmar. Shobika drew rui maas (rohu fish) which can be found in the canals of Myanmar. The fish tasted delicious in Myanmar because it was freshly caught. At the camp the taste is not as good because it is not fresh.
