Issamas is the Rohingya word for prawns. There are plenty of prawns available in Arakan because of the many rivers and ponds. Hassah is the Rohingya word for cooked beans and for this dish, prawns are cooked with beans into a curry. Issamas di hassah salon (prawn curry with beans) is a favourite dish of the Rohingya people and is consumed most during the rainy season.
