Description

Hazara ze goru chorar (Hazara is grazing her cattles) is a Baramashya song, performed in the Rohingya camps for the RCMC by Rohingya musician Abdul Majid.

Baramashya songs are sung to praise Rohingya heroic personalities and other important people in Rohingya history. The songs also narrate legendary events of their lives. Sometimes they tell stories of Rohingya war heroes who were killed in the battlefield. As the elderly people are well-versed in history, Baramashya songs are commonly sung by them. In the sad times of Rohingya community, Baramashya inspires their younger generations. These song sessions can be quite long, often lasting an hour. Since they can be sung all throughout the year, they are thought to be known as Baramashya in Rohingya, meaning 12 months.
