Description

Facon fira are banana fritters, a favourite snack enjoyed by the Rohingya people on winter mornings. It is called facon fira because it looks like the circular, flat seed of a plum, called facon in the Rohingya language. Usually palm sugar is used to make facon fira, but some people prefer using castor sugar. This tasty treat is often served to houseguests and sometimes sent as a gift to relatives and neighbours.
