Description

This sorha duloin is a model of a wooden ferris wheel operated by hand. On occasions such as Eid, festivals or football matches, Rohingya children enjoy riding the ferris wheel. This ride is popular in rural areas. The operator is usually the duloin fakkaroiya (carpenter) who made the duloin, who controls it by pulling and pushing the carriages while standing on the ground. The sorha duloin is an old and beloved part of Rohingya culture.
This object was crafted from wood and nails by master carpenter Hairul Amin.
