Description
The Rohingya community enjoy eating a lot of fish. In Myanmar, the men would catch fish from ponds and rivers and bring them home for the women to cook with traditional herbs and spices. At the camp, they still eat fish but since it is not freshly caught like it was in Myanmar the taste is different. This project helped the women recall the fish they used to eat in Myanmar. Roshida drew the datiyal maas (silver bream fish) because she likes eating it. This fish can be found in the canals of Myanmar where it was freshly caught. At the camp they are sold frozen with added preservatives.
