Goitta dula is an urn-shaped bamboo basket, or creel, used by Rohingya fishermen to store and carry fresh fish. Goitta dula is woven from split bamboo with a rim made from bamboo cane. The neck of the basket is narrow to prevent the fish from jumping out. Goitta dula can be worn on the back like a backpack for easy transport. Rohingya fishermen believe that bamboo, as a natural material, keeps the fish fresh.
