This is a portrait of Sara Khatun, a Rohingya embroidery artisan for the RCMC. It was painted by Farzana Ahmed Urmi, a Bangladeshi artist-in-residence for the RCMC.

Sara Khatun does fultola (embroidery) with predominantly flower and vegetable patterns, modern patchwork and innovative techniques. She learned traditional embroidery in Myanmar and continued practicing it with her sisters in the camp. She has done several large tapestries and individual artwork for RCMC.
