Description
The hoúlong is a Rohingya cow bell or wind chime. The bell consists of a flat rectangular box hollowed from wood with three wooden clappers attached in a row. Farmers tie the hoúlong to the neck of a cow to keep track of it when it is out grazing. A hoúlong can also be tied in the branches of a fruit tree as a wind chime to scare away birds and protect the fruit.
