The Rohingya community enjoy eating a lot of fish. In Myanmar, the men would catch fish from ponds and rivers and bring them home for the women to cook with traditional herbs and spices. At the camp, they still eat fish but since it is not freshly caught like it was in Myanmar the taste is different. This project helped the women recall the fish they used to eat in Myanmar. Moriom drew a tilapia fish. She used to catch this fish regularly from her pond in Myanmar. At the camp, she does not like buying it from the market so she eats it occasionally. She recalled memories of Myanmar while embroidering this fish.
