Description
The Rohingya community enjoy eating a lot of fish. In Myanmar, the men would catch fish from ponds and rivers and bring them home for the women to cook with traditional herbs and spices. At the camp, they still eat fish but since it is not freshly caught like it was in Myanmar the taste is different. This project helped the women recall the fish they used to eat in Myanmar. Asmida embroidered a boyamaitta maas (tuna fish) that could be found in the rivers of Myanmar. Everyone eats this fish here because it is boneless. The fish tastes better in Myanmar because it was caught fresh, but it tastes different in the camp because it is sold frozen.
