The art facilitator noticed that sometimes women don❜t have enough food but they still wear makeup. The reason behind putting on makeup is that it helps to ignore the pangs of hunger. While some women put makeup on special occasions such as Eid or weddings, others use makeup such as lipstick and kajol (eyeliner) to feel beautiful every day. Round circles painted on faces with saánaká (thanaka) are a common sight among Rohingya women. Asmida loves dressing up. She uses lipstick, saánaká (thanaka), and kajol (eyeliner). She use to put on makeup back in Myanmar but now she uses saánaká the most.
