O Allah, Rohom goro tomar bandader (Oh Allah, have mercy on your servants) is a Tarana song, performed in the Rohingya camps for the RCMC by Rohingya musician Ali Akbor.

Tarana are sad songs and are used as a way for people to express lamentation. They are intended as catharsis for individuals and the community and can include a range of themes, from personal ones to religious and social ones to political ones. Recent Tarana are mostly about the situation in Myanmar, the stresses of camp life and the longing for a lost home. Tarana were called ‘Kobita Gan’ until about 50 years ago when the name was changed.
