Description

Dulhar bisoin is a special hand fan used in Rohingya weddings usually gifted to the groom from the bridal side. Many Rohingya families use it as a wedding gift. It employs a woven pattern called thanda zuu or cool waving pattern because the fan gives tranquil wind when used. The maker requires special workmanship. First, the bamboo thin strips must be boiled with colour dyes. Then, it is woven into creating beautiful colour combinations. Cane is used around the edge to make strong its border. These are normally sold for around 1500 – 2000 kyats.
