Description

Tuwaike or tuwaing is a rake used by Rohingya farmers to turn drying paddy in the sun and to gather or separate hay for their cattle. About six feet in length, a tuwaike consists of a wooden handle attached to a wooden head measuring about one and a half feet. On the head of the rake are seven or eight teeth, made of wood or iron nails. It is called tuwaike or tuwaing, depending on the local Rohingya dialect.
