Full name
Yasmin
Biographical note
Yasmin is an embroidery artisan who learnt fultola (traditional Rohingya stitching) from her cousin. In Arakan she used to embroider pillow covers, hand fans and headscarves. Selling them, helped support her family and cover household expenses. Because Yasmin could not bear a child of her own, she adopted a young girl after arriving to the camps. To financially support her daughter, Yasmin joined the RCMC embroidery group where her favourite projects were “Henna Tattoo” and “House in Myanmar”.
