Woodwork (WDW)
This is a miniature representation of a zali boat (passenger boat). It is also sometimes called a motorboat or salle (boat with an engine).
Made out of Garjan (Dipterocarpus alatus) or Baha (Nilotica) wood, although historically these boats were powered by wind and sails. Sometimes it is also used to carry a small amount of goods. Zali boat is usually seen in the northern parts of Buthidaung, and people use it to travel long distances, to Sittwe for instance.
Generally, its length is 70 to 80 feet and it is 12 to 15 feet wide. It has a carrying capacity of 2 metric tons and costs 5, 000, 000 to 10, 000,000 Kyat to make.
