Gorur gusso salon is a special beef curry and considered a luxury item by many within the Rohingya community, since beef can be expensive to purchase. 

Gorur gusso salon is prepared for guests or on special occasions by less well-to-do Rohingya families, while only the wealthy can afford to cook it as part of their daily meals. Made with onion, garlic and ginger, this special beef curry is simple and relatively easy to prepare. Rohingya people eat this dish with plain rice or luri fira (rice flour flat bread).
