This is a portrait of Yasmin, a Rohingya embroidery artisan for the RCMC. It was painted by Farzana Ahmed Urmi, a Bangladeshi artist-in-residence for the RCMC.

Yasmin learnt fultola (embroidery) from her cousin. In Arakan she used to embroider pillow covers, hand fans and headscarves. Selling them, helped support her family and cover household expenses. Because Yasmin could not bear a child of her own, she adopted a young girl after arriving to the camps. Yasmin joined the RCMC embroidery group to financially support her daughter.
