Description
The art facilitator noticed that sometimes women don❜t have enough food but they still wear makeup. The reason behind putting on makeup is that it helps to ignore the pangs of hunger. While some women put makeup on special occasions such as Eid or weddings, others use makeup such as lipstick and kajol (eyeliner) to feel beautiful every day. Round circles painted on faces with saánaká (thanaka) are a common sight among Rohingya women. Minara loves putting on makeup since childhood. To look more beautiful, she puts on saánaká (thanaka) after makeup. She likes saánaká and often used it back in Myanmar.
