Saloin is a winnowing basket used to remove chaff or husks from rice, sift rice flour, and hold boiled noodles in preparation for frying. Saloin consists of a woven bamboo surface attached to a round frame reinforced with rope or plastic wire. It is also referred to as gol saloin.
