Basketry

Turoung is a deep, trumpet-shaped basket for packing and transporting vegetables and other items over a long distance, especially in the mountains. Turoung is typically about three feet in length, and one foot in width, but the size can vary based on need. Turoung has a wide neck and narrow body, like an upside-down trumpet. It is carried on the back, with the strap, or tumpline, attached to the forehead.
