Potter

Shubash Rudro was a respected elder potter of his community, who although Hindu was looked upto by Muslims because of his knowledge about Rohingya traditions. Shubash Rudro learnt to make pottery items from his parents at an early age and after marrying his wife Maloti Rudro the duo moulded clay together as a team. For the RCMC collection, Shubash and Maloti made figurines, tools, pipes, flutes, vessels, bowls, plates and other items. Shubash Rudro tragically passed away in August 2020, almost three years after fleeing to Bangladesh as a refugee. His dream of returning to Arakan remains unfulfilled.
