Potter

Amir Hakim is a potter who inherited the talent of making items out of clay from ancestors. In Arakan, Amir owned a shop where he sold different pottery items essential for every Rohingya household; some beloved Rohingya rice cakes cannot be made without a foin (rice cake steamer) and Amir❜s wife says that many Rohingya housewives prefer the taste of food cooked in earthen patila (pot) and water stored in earthenware tastes sweeter and fresher than water stored in plastic or metal. At the camp, Amir feels shy to practice his trade although he is willing to try if given the right materials.
