Showmima

Showmima is an embroidery artisan who taught herself the art of fultola (traditional Rohingya stitching) after observing a woman in her neighbourhood. In Arakan, Showmima shifted her focus to embroidering flowers and vines on pillow covers and headscarves, when her parents did not allow her to study further. At the camp she busies herself with working for the RCMC embroidery group, where she learnt to draw faces, different sceneries, trees and fruits.
